James M. Fountain, 72, of Greenwood, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019. He was born to the late Virgil and Catherine (Prather) Fountain on June 23, 1946 in Indianapolis.

James married Suzanne (Shanks) Fountain on July 20,1968. James was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War from May of 1966 to July 4, 1968. He worked as a pipefitter for Eli Lilly Corporation for 34 years. James was a member of the Cluster Busters Hot Rod Club.

James is survived by his wife of 50 years, Suzanne (Shanks) Fountain of Greenwood; his daughter, Heather Basile of Los Angeles, CA; his brother, Steve (Carol) Fountain of Indianapolis; his nephews, Stephen Fountain Jr., Adam and Josh Shanks; and his great-niece Franne Fountain.

A gathering will be Thursday, March 21st from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Jessen Funeral Home, 729 N. U.S. Hwy 31, Whiteland. Arrangements entrusted to Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel.
