Billy Joe Pennington, 80, of Wichita Falls, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011.

The graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011, in Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A son of the late Bailey and Teola Pennington, he was born on January 13, 1931, in Vernon, Alabama. He retired after 21 years of service from the United States Air Force as a MSGT, and later, retired from Civil Service with 21 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church, and was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter. He also enjoyed playing bridge, and reading.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Pennington of Wichita Falls; two sons, William A. Pennington and wife Maggie of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Robert B. Pennington of Sanwich, Illinois; his daughter, Patricia Wrona and husband Roger of Shelbyville, Kentucky; his brother, Kenneth McDaniel of Sullignet, Alabama; six grandchildren, Steven James, Michael William, Nickolas Ryan, Kiel Robert, Adam William, and Emmie Lora Eisenhauer; four great-grandchildren, Hailie, Blaine, Trace, and Landon; daughter-in-law, Krystal Pennington of Illinois; his cousin, Wallace Pennington of Vernon, Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and family.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2011, at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
