BLISSFIELD-Pastor Paul Edward Clark, age 81, formerly of Deerfield, died early Friday morning, September 4, 2026, at Charlotte Stephenson Manor in Adrian, where he and his wife have been residing. Born December 14, 1944, in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was the son of the late Monroe and Nellie (Scott) Clark.
Paul selflessly enlisted to serve his country as a member of the United States Air Force in 1963. He served the final year of his deployment in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in September of 1967. Upon his return to civilian life, he married the love of his life, Faye Laverne Adams on January 29, 1968, in Gracelynn, KY. Together they raised four sons and created a 58-year legacy of love and faithfulness.
Paul was a dedicated auto worker for General Motors until his retirement in 1998. Answering his call to serve, he also faithfully pastored at Deerfield Church of God for over 40 years. In leisure time, Paul enjoyed painting, the sports of hunting and golfing, and he loved to further his knowledge with reading. Being in the company of his beloved family brought him the most joy in life.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Faye, are three sons, James (Stacey) Clark, Jason (Anna) Clark, and Nathan (Billie) Clark; daughter-in-law, Courtney Clark; two sisters, Bonnie Ervin and Shirley Henry; grandchildren, Jordan (Nicki) Clark, Jacob (Hanna) Clark, Alexa (Isaac) Henry, Ryleigh Clark, Camdyn Clark, Isabella Clark, Julia Clark, Lydia Clark, Corey Luna, Morgan Clark, Emily (Andrew) Slomski, and Owen Clark; great-grandchildren, Leighton Henry, Delilah Slomski, Sophie Clark, Madelyn Henry, Mason Henry, Clementine Slomski, Francis Luna and Archer Luna.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in his death by a son, Matthew Clark; his in-laws, James and Mary Adams; granddaughter, Faith Clark; great-granddaughter, Wynonna Faye Ruhl; his brothers, Don, Bob, Bill and George; and two sisters, Betty and Mae.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the Marry Funeral Home in Blissfield on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Additional visitation be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until a funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Pastor David Hutch will officiate. Military Honors conducted by the Blissfield American Legion Post 325 will conclude the service. Burial will take place at a later date in Deerfield Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in honor of Paul are suggested to benefit Deerfield Church of God or Hospice of Lenawee. Arrangements have been made with the guidance of the Marry Funeral Home, Blissfield.
