ITEM # 1:                Tan Son Nhut

SUBJECT:            Command and Administration

DISCUSSION:      The Air Police Squadron area was outstanding, considerable time and effort had been expended to beautify the area. Bushes and shrubs has been planted and the general area was well policed. In order to provide additional recreation facilities for this squadron a large patio and barbecue area was under construction as a self-help basis. The general housecleaning and furniture arrangements in the barracks were satisfactory. Considerable improvement had been made in alleviating overcrowding conditions, through the proper storage of excess equipment and personal baggage. However, within the next 30 days the squadron is programmed to receive an additional 150 airmen. Unless positive actions is taken to provide additional barracks space, extremely overcrowded conditions will exist. In order to provide minimum response time for emergency donditions, the barracks space provided should be in the same area as the barracks presently assigned to the squadron.

ACTION: The Commander, 377th Cmbt. Spt. Gp. should take necessary action to provide additional bararacks space to house 150 additional airmen.
